International Leadership of Texas (ILTexas) is a free public charter school serving more than 23,000 K-12 students at 22 physical campuses. The mission of ILTexas is to prepare students for exceptional leadership roles in the international community by emphasizing servant leadership, mastering the English, Spanish and Chinese languages, and strengthening the mind, body, and character.

Communications were tedious and rigid, leading to miscommunication and potential safety issues – a problem that many school systems struggle with. ILTexas and Yurgosky created a flexible, configurable, and user-friendly technology that can communicate simultaneously across multiple mediums, filter audiences and save reusable lists.

Yurgosky built a custom application form that allows branching between grades, schools and geographies in order to create a tailored, personalized experience for parents. This form includes a parent portal login to submit the application and view the status and a scalable architecture—that is now leveraged across geographies and languages.

ILTexas is able to use this same portal for other parent needs, if desired, such as grades, absence notes, parent-teacher conference scheduling, parent communication, interventions, etc. This application was originally designed for Chinese applicants, but may also be used for US applicants.

Yurgosky created a mobile-responsive community that allows alumni to update their information, find other alumni and contribute to the school. The community includes clean and modern branding within the Salesforce Experience Cloud.

Process 

  • Create a user interface for the communications page to better the user experience of families using it. 

  • Track points of contact with families and take notes for the best ways of future communication.  

  • Build out a system specifically to help the superintendent with robo-call automation in emergencies.

  • Our engineers built a custom all-in-one, flexible communications page for ILTexas to be able to have all the features in one centralized place.

  • A unified experience across channels integrating AWS, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Twilio and Mogli

  • Ability to reach families in real-time across email, SMS and telephone with very low administration

  • Facilitated the choice of engaging with families via their preferred communication channels with personal messages from people they know
